Overheating in Classrooms
Overheating in Classrooms If you are involved in the design, specification or construction of school classrooms, you will be aware that these are spaces that can soon overheat. Recent surveys have shown how this can have a significant impact on a pupil's ability to learn.

"Building Bulletin 101 - Ventilation of School Buildings" is published in support of the Building Regulations and the School Premises Regulations and provides a guide to the legal requirements for ventilation and the control of overheating in school buildings.

Newly built teaching spaces need to comply with BB101. There is no formal requirement to bring existing school buildings up to the standard. If a classroom does not overheat now, there is no need to change anything even if it doesn’t currently comply with BB101. But, if it does and you are considering installing a system to solve the problem, the design has to comply with the current requirements.

Dynamic Simulation Modelling is used to provide robust ventilation and overheating performance confidence. This provides an accurate prediction of internal temperatures throughout each day of the year. It considers numerous factors such as the type of ventilation system, size and type of glazing, orientation, solar shading, building fabric construction, occupation profiles, air leakage rates etc.

We are very experienced in this type of analysis and use the latest state-of-the-art modelling software to produce BB101 reports for Building Regulation compliance.

MES Charity Challenge 2017
MES Charity Challenge 2017 Here at MES we don’t sit still for long. Hot on the heels of our September 2016 triathlon event, we have decided to spend this year clocking up a combined 10,000km target by whatever self-propelled means possible - walking, running, swimming, cycling or skiing. Everyone is involved and the final push will be a weekend team walk in the Peak District.

A Just Giving page will be posted on our website shortly and our facebook and twitter pages will follow the team’s progress.
